The fantastic GoGo Refill team
WHO WE ARE
We're a group of dedicated waste-reducers, ready to help you ditch harmful plastic packaging for all of your household essentials. You may wonder how we got here...well, we learned how harmful plastic can be and we decided to make some changes.
Why we're ditching plastic
8% AND GROWING
Plastic production accounts for 8% of global petroleum use, and that's expected to grow to 20% by 2050. The oil & gas companies are counting on increasing plastic production to grow their profits as regulations aim to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels for transportation & energy production.
ENVIRONMENTAL RACISM
BIPOC communities disproportionately face the effects of toxic pollution from the production of plastics. We're proud to support organizations like the Louisiana Bucket Brigade fighting to prevent expansion of the petrochemical industry in places like the aptly named "Cancer Alley"
8.1 MILLION TONS
of plastic ends up in the ocean every year. And plastic doesn't biodegrade, it breaks down into harmful micro-plastics, consumed by animals and humans alike. Recent studies show micro-plastics in our air, water, blood... everywhere.
What we believe
ALL TOGETHER NOW
Collective individual actions make an impact. In 4 years, together we've refused over 192,000 plastic packages!
FOR EVERYONE
Low-waste options should be available to all - and we're working every day to create that reality.
YOU WITH US, LADIES?
Women supporting women in business is a beautiful thing - so we source everything we can from women owned businesses.
Meet the owner
Laura Marston
It all started with a New Year's resolution to ditch single-use plastic water bottles. After that, it was impossible for me to close my eyes to the problems surrounding plastic production, toxicity and pollution. I started GoGo Refill because I needed more package free options here in my town. But what I didn't expect was how much joy I would get from being at GoGo every day. I'm energized by the conversations we have with our community of amazing refillers, we're always learning from each other and sharing tips and trials of the low-waste lifestyle.
*fooled you, I actually don't love cleaning.
